Shoe vs Shoe: @nordarun 001 (left) vs @altrarunning Timp 5 1️⃣ The 001 is surprisingly wide and flat feeling so I immediately thought of Altras. 2️⃣ Sizing: will be tricky with both. Norda’s site says to go up 1/2 size from other shoes but I went with my normal Hoka size 11. Timp 5 11 is way too tight—volume wise—on me. Even going up to an 11.5, my foot just doesn’t comfortably fit into the Timp 5. I can easily wear a size 10.5 Lone Peak 8 3️⃣ Weight: 10.6oz T5 vs 11.1oz 001, both size 11. 4️⃣ Cushion: there’s definitely more stack with the T5, listed as 30mm. 001 is listed as 26/21mm but they don’t feel that minimal to me; it’s definitely more minimal than the Timp 5. 5️⃣ Feel: Both have a flat—no rocker feel. 6️⃣ Upper: the 001 upper made of Dyneema is instantly more comfortable than the T5’s stiff upper. The 001 upper only gets better (softer) and better (more molded to you)—which is noticeable after only a couple runs. The 001 isn’t very breathable however. 7️⃣ Outsoles both feature Vibram Megagrip, but there’s more rubber on the 001. 👉 Final Thoughts: the Norda should be a thru hikers dream! Or any long adventurer’s dream: a shoe built to last! That’s wide with good volume too! I would definitely say without a doubt that a single pair of 001s would last longer than 2 pairs of Timp 5, considering all the wear and tear issues Altra has had over the years. $295 for one 001 RZ shown here vs $310 for two pairs of Timp 5. #shoevsshoe 📷 @gtach

Possibly the best part of the @nordarun 001 is the outsole! A Norda x Vibram exclusive design with Mega Grip Litebase. 👉 I’m used to running in higher stack shoes like the Hoka Mafate Speed 4 and The North Face Altamesa 300 so I do feel more rocks through these than normal—but I also feel much more nimble in the 001s. The 001s have a surprisingly stable and soft feel for a shoe that everyone says needs a lot of break in time. I really don’t like firm shoes and I wouldn’t classify these as firm even after just two short runs. #newtrailshoes #norda001 📷 @gtach

Everything about the @nordarun 001 RZ edition is unique. First it raises money for @goi2p—the charity of the RZ namesake, adventure runner @rayzahab. The upper is made from bio-based Dyneema—a really strong, durable fabric that feels like it’s molding to my foot with every use. The insole is custom and plush! Another New Trail Shoe: @nike Zegama 2 officially launches 5.2.24 but here’s a sneak peak! These added @vibram Mega Grip so they should compete very strongly with the Hoka Speedgoat 5 & 6 and Mafate Speed 4. Z2 has a roomier/wider fit and a soft midsole more like the Mafate Speed 4. 👉 I still can’t see how Nike claims they’re a 4mm drop though; it feels like an 8 or 10mm drop to me. #newtrailshoes #zegama2 #megagrip 📷 @gtach
